This course is suitable for anyone interested in scuba diving, regardless of prior experience. If you’re already a GUE Supervised Diver, this class will be a continuation of what you’ve already learned.

Description

WHAT WILL I LEARN?

The GUE Recreational Diver Level 1 / Open Water Course covers everything from basic diving skills to using Nitrox 32% gas, which is included in the course fee. You’ll also gain the foundation you need to continue your diving education in the future.

COURSE DURATION:

The GUE Recreational Diver Level 1 / Open Water course spans six days, split over multiple weekends.

PREREQUISITES:

To be eligible for the GUE Recreational Diver Level 1 program, applicants must:

Be at least 14 years old
Be physically and mentally fit
Be a non-smoker
Be able to swim
Obtain a physician’s prior written authorization for use of prescription drugs, except for birth control, or for any medical condition that may pose a risk while diving.

DIVING EXPENSES PER PERSON:

The estimated cost breakdown is as follows:

Course Registration on GUE’s website: $95 USD
Equipment Rental: TBD
Pool sessions: TBD
Nitrox fees: $30 CAD per tank
Hotel fees: TBD if applicable.

The above prices are based on six dives and 10 pool sessions. In some cases, additional dive sessions may be required to complete the skills. All payments are non-refundable.

Instructor’s diving and travel expenses, if applicable, will be shared equally by all students.

Students are expected to study the course material and will be given homework throughout the class.
